Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Setup
GA4 is the latest version of Google Analytics. GTM Assitant App helps you in the integration of GA4 for basic events + enhanced Ecommerce tracking for your Shopify store with just a few clicks.
Step 1: Go to the Google Analytics Website
Start by opening your browser and visiting:

Step 2: Sign In with Google
- Click on "Sign In to Analytics" or "Get started Today" in the top right corner.
- Sign in using your Google Account.
Step 3: Set Up Your GA4 Account
- Enter a name (usually your business or website name) in the Account Name field.
- Click on the “next” button.
- Follow the prompts and enter your property details:
- Store name
- Time zone
- Currency
- Follow the prompts and enter your Business details:
- Industry category
- Business size
- Now you have to Choose your Business objectives.
- Now accept the Data Processing Terms
- Click on the “I Accept” button.
- Choose a platform
- Click Next and Set up your web stream by adding the Website URL and Stream name.
- Click Create& Continue to complete the setup.
Step 4: Set Up Data Streams
- Click on "Web" under the Data Streams option.
- Enter your Shopify store URL (ensure it’s correct, as GA4 will connect based on this URL).
- Assign a name to the stream (e.g., Your Store Name).
- Click Create Stream.
Step 5: Retrieve Your Measurement ID
- Once the stream is created, you’ll see a Measurement ID (e.g., G-XXXXXXXX).
- This Measurement ID is required to connect GA4 with Google Tag Manager (GTM) through the WebGarh GTM Assistant App.
Once Your GA4 Account is Set Up
With your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) account now set up, you’re ready to connect it with the GTM Assistant app on Shopify. The GTM Assistant will automatically use your GA4 Measurement ID to configure tracking, ensuring seamless data collection for your store.

Once your GA4 property is ready, head over to the GTM Assistant app in your Shopify dashboard, enter your Measurement ID, and let the GTM Assistant handle the rest.
